Completed Tierra Santa Mantle

LV House Doctor recently completed a project out on the Northwest side of Las Vegas.

We custom fabricated a mantle, stained, glazed and installed it. Corbels were added for dramatic detail and it was finished with decorative stone.

IMG_6612Our client had actually been trying to complete the remodel of their fireplace/mantle for a few years. Her husband is actually an engineer and planned on doing it himself, but he had been so busy with his own work that their home improvements took a backseat.

Many people run into this issue and are often busy working and busy with daily life activities. The issue is that they spend so much time working to fund all the projects they want to do themselves, but find themselves exhausted and wanting to relax instead of work on these projects in their spare time.

When you realize that this is an issue then considering a professional to get the job seems like the proper next step. It is no secret that price is a major consideration when it comes to remodeling projects, but if you take into account mistakes in measuring, getting the wrong material, performing quality and accurate work, and amount of time it may take to complete a project yourself, it often is in your better interest to hire a professional.

The homeowners of this project said that this was the easiest and quickest job that they have ever completed. They Also couldn’t believe how big of a difference it made in the environment. They said their home felt much more warm and cozy.

Completed Carolina Cherry Project

If you follow us on our, you may have seen a picture of a unique water feature we were installing in a client’s backyard. In addition to the water feature, the entire backyard was landscaped. The homeowner wanted a relaxing backyard that was also useful for his kids to be able to enjoy playing in as well. Grass was installed over the majority of the empty dirt lot. The perimeter of the yard was decorated with a concrete border, shrubs, flowering plants for color, small palms, trees, and a stone retaining wall to add depth. The water feature was enhanced by uplighting it to create a “washed lighting” effect as well as various plants around the perimeter of the yard.

The homeowner also said that BBQ’ing and eating outside during the summer is something that happens often so we also installed a misting system to the existing porch. The water feature and the misting system are both remote control operated making it very easy for the homeowner to turn on and off.

Take a look at the completed project photos below:

Update On Drake’s Man Cave

Drake’s “Mountain Man Man Cave” is moving along nicely.A few adjustments are needed and will be completed soon.

In the meantime take a look at our pictures from the BBQ that was held over the weekend to help fund all the cool things being done to the Tuffshed that will turn into Drakes awesome Man Cave!

The festivities began for Drake even before the BBQ started. Drake did a ride-along to the BBQ with the City of Henderson Police Department.

Here are a couple pictures of Drake, his family, and the gang of people who are more than happy to make his one true wish come true! We had a such a great time hanging out with Drake and everyone who came to support this project. It was a beautiful day and the energy was high.

This has been a wonderful experience for us and LV House Doctor can’t wait for the Man Cave to be done so Drake and his friends can have some fun! We also wanted to extend a thank you to the Make a Wish of Southern Nevada for involving us in this amazing project. Keep checking back for more pictures on progress!

“Mountain Cabin Man Cave” for Drake

LV House Doctor was recently asked to participate and help get a project off the ground for a young man by the name of Drake who is being granted a wish by the Make a Wish Foundation in Southern Nevada. Drake is courageously battling Osteosarcoma; a form of bone cancer.

His one true wish is to have his own “Mountain Cabin Man Cave” in his backyard. He wants a place where he can get away for some Drake time, have sleepovers with his friends, watch movies and hang out. In his vision his man cave he would have a brown leather couch with a fold out bed (for sleepovers), TV, DVD player, a cabinet for his DVDs and a hammock on the porch!

Here are some pictures of Drake meeting with the team for the initial design meeting of his “Mountain Cabin Man Cave”

The plot for Drake’s “Mountain Cabin Man Cave” has been designed and a meeting has been set with the Home Owners Association for March 25th for approval. Once approved Tuff Shed will complete the build of the shed and then LV House Doctor will finalize the flooring and electrical services needed for Drake’s one true wish!

We were so humbled to be able to help out the community of Southern Nevada… the community that we call home. Check back for more blogs containing updates about this project!

Room Additions and Garage Conversions

If your family seems to be outgrowing your current home and you are looking to purchase a larger home but you don’t know if the funds are there, LV House Doctor can help you out. We are experienced in adding on rooms and converting garages to living spaces. This is an investment that will have a huge impact on how your current living situation is and you will also see the payback if you go to sell your house in the future.

New Baby

If you recently welcomed a new baby into this world and had to get rid of your home office for a nursery, maybe an addition to the master suite is the right option for you. A wall separating the master suite from the new home office would create the space you need.

Mother In-Law’s Quarters

Maybe the new roommate is an older member of the family and a mother-in law’s quarters is what you are looking for. We are constantly converting bathrooms to be handicap accessible to meet the needs of families that are wanting their loved ones close to help look after them.

Your kids are tired of sharing a room

We have also had clients that bought their starter homes and while the kids were young they shared the room, but want to give each child their own space now that they are older. A great way to do this is add onto the bathroom so that the two kids bedrooms share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom.

Man Caves

Last year we helped a couple that had completely different decorating taste that had just gotten married and moved in with each other. She didn’t like all the hunting prizes hung on the wall, but there was no way he was going to let them gather dust in the garage. They converted their garage to a man-cave and they both lived happily ever after!

Whether you are already committed to a workout routine are want to start working out regularly, but lack the time to drive to the gym and do not like the atmosphere of a huge athletic club, converting your garage to a gym could be a viable solution. We love this idea for fans of Crossfit!

Hopefully this post gave you some great ideas on how an additional room or garage conversion can help your family out. We will posting photos of room additions and garage conversions that we have done in the past.

If you wanting us to come out and give you an estimate and want help making your vision become a reality give us a call at 702.489.5164 or request a quote online.
